25 runners from the Ryde Harriers club on the Isle of Wight have completed the 40th anniversary run of the Gosport Half Marathon.
The race, which took place on Sunday November 16, brought together more than 1,600 runners.
The Ryde Harriers arrived at the race in time to set off at 10am to complete a picturesque seaside course – including a few meters on shingle!

Gary Marshall finished 6th overall with a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 45 seconds and was second in his age category.
Daniel Furmidge topped the Vet 50 category with a time of one hour, 18 minutes and 15 seconds, while Peter Young came first in the Vet 75 category, finishing in one hour, 46 minutes and three seconds.

Also competing in the club were Keean Amin, Tom Fallick, Trevor Mcalister, Graham Gillham, Graham Garner, Simon Joy, Matthew Jacobs, Martin Dyer, Elliott Tyler, Michael Dignan, Emma Clemens, Gemma Maddocks, Geoff Kite, Claire Angell, Victoria Thomas, Tim Regan-Morris, Caroline Dall-Whittall, Sian Savin, Ken Oatley, Natalie Rose, Alison Critchley and Jackie May.

Elliott Tyler of Ryde Harriers said: “Credit must be given to Gosport Road Runners who organized a race that could accommodate a large number of runners whilst being a safe and affordable event.
“I have no doubt that Ryde Harriers will compete in the race again, year after year, and come away with respectable times and personal bests.”
